FAQ for Judges

Q: What should I wear for the day?

A: Since you will be walking around Great Hall to judge projects throughout the morning, comfortable shoes are a must. Other than that you should be in casual business attire for the day.

Q: Are there standardized questions I should ask the students I am judging?

A: No. Although we do have a standardized score sheet, you are free to ask students your own questions about their project. We do have some questions that could be helpful though–click here to download a PDF file of sample questions that you can ask the students on the day of the fair.

Q: Do I have to stay all day?

A: It depends on you! If you are simply here to judge, you are free to go once all projects have been scored. But don’t forget that there will be FREE activities going on all day–you could meet Lucy, the UC Bearcat, see one of the Chemistry Department’s great demonstrations, or hear our keynote speaker Kobie Boykins, an engineer from NASA! Remeber, if you are judging in order to earn graduate/CEU credit, you are required to attend the afternoon workshop and the awards ceremony.

Q: Do I get a chance to eat if I am juding the fair?

A: Yes. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all judges, as well as free parking for the day.

Q: Will I have time to see the exhibits and activities?

A: Yes. There will be plenty of time to walk around and enjoy all the activities that will be going on outside of The Great Hall.
